How do I import my papers?

Import your scanned papers as PDF or image files for an exam: Examino then automatically splits them into individual papers.

Once your exam is created, you can import your students' scanned papers to launch grading.

Accepted formats

Examino accepts papers as PDF or image files (a scan of each paper, or a batch of papers combined in a single file). You don't need to separate papers before importing: Examino handles that automatically.

Import steps

  1. From the exam page, open the paper import area.

  2. Drop your PDF or image files (drag-and-drop or file selection).

  3. Upload starts immediately once the files are dropped.

  4. Examino creates provisional papers and launches automatic splitting into pages and individual papers.

What's next?

Once the import is finished, check the automatic splitting before launching grading: this step ensures each paper corresponds to a single student and contains the right pages. You can import papers in multiple batches if not all your scans are ready at once — each new batch is processed the same way.
