How do I fix a splitting error before launching grading?

Reassign pages between papers, and merge or split incorrectly grouped papers before launching AI grading.

After importing your papers, Examino proposes an automatic split into individual papers. Before launching grading, take a moment to check that this split is correct.

Common errors to watch for

  • A page assigned to the wrong paper (mixed up between two students).

  • A paper split into two separate papers when it's actually the same student.

  • Pages from two students grouped into a single paper.

  • An illegible or missing page.

How to fix it

  1. Open the exam's splitting view, which shows the proposed provisional papers.

  2. Spot misplaced pages using each page's preview.

  3. Reassign a page to the correct paper by moving it into the right group.

  4. Split a paper that actually contains multiple students, or merge two groups that belong to the same student.

  5. Once all papers are correctly delimited, confirm to move to the next step.

After confirming

Once the split is confirmed, you can link each paper to a student in your class, then launch AI grading. It's recommended to do this check before launching grading: it prevents a misplaced page from skewing a student's grade or assessment.
